Some Pertinent Questions and Answers

Who is eligible to enroll? Anyone with a High School Diploma or it's equivalent is eligible for the associate degree programs. These programs are particularly appropriate for recent high school graduates who would like to try college in a familiar setting, for homemakers and other currently employed and place-bound individuals wishing to continue their education, and for other residents of the Dexter, Greenville, Milo and Guilford areas interested in convenient access to personal enrichment and a University credential.

Is financial aid available? Yes! Regarding financial aid, students at off campus sites are treated just as those on campus are treated. To be eligible for financial aid, a student must be admitted to a degree program and must meet the Federal and State guidelines. Because the application process is time consuming, anyone interested in financial aid should initiate the process immediately. To do so, individuals should contact the Director at 876-4625.

Is any pre-enrollment testing required? Anyone without an established record of success in relevant post secondary courses is required to have her or his basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics evaluated by the University of Maine System. This is intended to insure that the individual has the requisite skills before enrolling in any courses. If the results of the evaluation indicate any deficiencies, the individual will be advised to work on those deficiencies before attempting relevant college level studies.
