Thank you

Guilford United Methodist Church Food Cupboard wishes to thank you for your generosity in helping to fill their Food Cupboard shelves.  You made it possible for some people less fortunate to have a happy holiday.

Cold Weather

Students and parents need to be reminded that cold weather is here.  Students do go outside each day for recess and need to dress warmly (hats, mittens/gloves, jackets, ski pants, boots).  Our school policy states that:  Weather permitting, students participate in recess each day.  Decisions to have recess during cold weather depend upon the temperature and the wind chill factor.  Students should always dress for outside recess.  Only students with a medical excuse will be allowed to remain in the building during scheduled outside recesses.  Students well enough to attend school will benefit from a short period of time outside for fresh air and exercise.

Address and Phone Changes

If you have moved or changed your phone number, please contact Mrs. Cleaves at 876-4590 with your new information.  It is very important that we be able to reach you in case of an emergency.

HUGS Meeting

The next HUGS meeting is on Monday, Jan. 30th at 6:30 at theMcKusick School.  Hope to see you there!

Transportation Changes

Due to many problems lately, we want to remind you that if your child is making any changes in how he/she is getting home we MUST have a note.  For safety reasons, we cannot take your child’s word on where they are supposed to go.  Neither can we call parents at home or at work when buses are waiting for them to board.  If your child has a CLC program after school, they must attend unless we receive a note from you in the morning.  We appreciate your help with this.

Family Movie Day

HUGS will be having a Family Movie Day on January 28th.  The sign up form for the movie came home this week with your child.  The movie is “Robots” and is rated PG.  Please return the filled out form by Jan. 19th.

Reading Is Giving

Students at both schools had fun reading to help Scholastic donate books to children in need.  Our goal was 1200 books.  We exceeded our goal by reading 1745 books in only 4 weeks!  GREAT JOB!!  We have read:
