Due
to many problems lately, we want to remind you that if your child is making any
changes in how he/she is getting home we
MUST have a note. For safety
reasons, we can not take your
child’s word on where they are supposed to go.
Neither can we call parents at home or at work when buses are waiting
for them to board. If your child has a CLC program after school, they must attend unless
we receive a note from you in the morning.
We appreciate your help with this.
We
had a wonderful treat on Sugar Out Day. Debbie Dellaire
from Dr. Steinke’s office visited each class and taught us about taking care of
our teeth.
If your child or if you know of a child that is going to be 5
years old by Oct. 15, 2006, he/she will be eligible to attend kindergarten in
August 2006. Registration will be April
14th. Please call Mrs. Cleaves at
876-4590 for more information and an appointment.
March
2 – the birthday of Dr. Seuss – is the single day NEA (National Education
Association) has chosen to spotlight the importance of encouraging children to
develop a passion for reading.
On Thursday,
March 2nd,
Mrs. Wright,
our wonderful cook, needs a couple of volunteers to help clean up after the
Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast. Please call her at 876-2656 if you can stay and
help her out. Thank you!
On
March 2, come celebrate Read Across America in honor
of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. That morning,
students will enjoy a school breakfast of green eggs and ham as they listen to
a Dr. Seuss favorite read by Mr. Stearns. In the evening, please join us for “Snuggle Up With A Book” from 6-7 pm. Students need to bring an
accompanying adult to share in the reading of books. Bring pillows, pajamas, blankets and anything
you need to feel comfortable. Local
storyteller, Dyan McCarthy-Clark, will entertain us
with some tales. We hope to see you
there!
The Parkman Preschool is
accepting registration for the 2006-07 year.
Space in the program is limited to 20 children. Applications can be obtained from Louise Ringle, Center Coordinator by visiting the preschool or
calling 876-4450 or by letting your child’s teacher know that you would like an
application.
HUGS
Fundraiser
If you have any old cell
phones lying around the house, please bring them to school and put them in the
collection box. HUGS will recycle the
phones as a fund raiser. Don’t forget to
bring in your Box Tops for Education and Campbells
Soup labels. These fund raisers are
ongoing and help us to bring programs like Chewonki
and the Planetarium to our schools.
Thank you for your support!
When
school is cancelled or delayed, please listen for the announcement on Q106.5
first. WDME and the television will also
carry the information, but might not have the news as quickly.
Both schools
have a growing pile of lost and found.
Please come in anytime and check our lost and found boxes.
Students at both schools are having fun reading to
help Scholastic donate books to children in need. Our goal was 1200 books. We exceeded our goal by reading 3174 books in only 8 weeks! GREAT
