Math Mania at McKusick

It’s time for our second annual Math Mania Night.  Please join us on Tuesday, March 15 from 5 to 6 pm for Math Mania.  See and explore the math games and materials your child uses in our Everyday Math Program.  Each classroom will feature two centers to explore with your child.  Children must be accompanied by at least one adult.  As a special bonus, the book fair will also be open and we will award two door prizes to Math Mania participants.

Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast

Everyone at the McKusick School had a wonderful day on March 2nd as we celebrated Dr. Seuss and the Read Across America Program.  We would like to thank the very many dads and grandfathers who helped on this special day.  We would also like to thank Wendy Lindberg who visited as the Cat in the Hat!

Dr. Seuss

When students arrived at Guilford Primary School, they were greeted by staff members dressed as the “Cat in the Hat”!  You should have seen the looks on the children’s faces!  We also had a special visit from the Cat in the Hat, Mrs. Violette who entertained us by reading Green Eggs and Ham.  What a fun way to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 101st birthday!

Snuggle Up With A Book

Many students and parents arrived at Guilford Primary decked out in pajamas and toting blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags to celebrate Read Across America on Tuesday evening.  The program sought to connect every child with a book.  It was heart-warming to stroll through the halls observing parents and children enjoying a good book together.  A special thank you goes to our guest storyteller, Dyan McCarthy-Clark.  Dr. Seuss would be pleased to know about all the activities which took place nationwide in honor of his birthday!

St. Patrick’s Day Green Carnations

The PCHS AFS students will be selling green carnations at both schools on Thursday, March 17.  Each carnation costs $1.  Please send your carnation money to school in an envelope marked with your child’s name and the number of carnations you would like to buy.
