Chewonki

Chewonki will be at Guilford Primary on March 31 and at McKusick on March 30.  The Chewonki Foundation is located in Wiscasset, Maine.  Chewonki provides an outreach program to schools in Maine.  The programs have been created to help students discover and explore the lives of plants and animals that comprise the world around them.  The Kinders will see a presentation called Furs, Feathers and Feet, Grade 1 and Grade 2 will enjoy Bats, and Grade 3 will learn about Birds of Prey.  Both schools want to thank the HUGS group for sponsoring our visits from the Chewonki Foundation.  If you would like to come enjoy the programs, the times are:

Transportation Changes

Due to many problems lately, we want to remind you that if your child is making any changes in how he/she is getting home we MUST have a note.  For safety reasons, we cannot take your child’s word on where they are supposed to go.  Neither can we call parents at home or at work when buses are waiting for them to board.  If your child has a CLC program after school, they must attend unless we receive a note from you in the morning.  We appreciate your help with this.

Kindergarten Registration

If your child or if you know of a child that is going to be 5 years old by Oct. 15, 2006, he/she will be eligible to attend kindergarten in August 2006.  Registration will be April 4th.  Please call Mrs. Cleaves at 876-4590 for more information and an appointment.

Parkman Preschool

The Parkman Preschool is accepting registration for the 2006-07 year.  Space in the program is limited to 20 children.  Applications can be obtained from Louise Ringle, Center Coordinator by visiting the preschool or calling 876-4450 or by letting your child’s teacher know that you would like an application.
