Welcome!
We all want to welcome you back to a new and exciting year. The following are a few important messages to help your child’s year run more smoothly and to avoid confusion.
1. Walkers and Riders should not arrive at school before 7:30 AM. Breakfast will be served at 7:45 AM with school beginning at 8:00 AM. They will be dismissed at 2:30 PM.
2. If your child normally rides the bus and you plan on picking up your child from school that day, please send a note or call to tell us. Otherwise, your child will be placed on the bus to go home.
3. If there is an emergency and you or someone else will pick up your child, please call before 1:30, so that we can alert teachers about the changes. Please check in at the front office before picking your child up.
4. We ask that you never park in front of the school! This area is for buses only. Please park in the parking lot.
5. Lunch money MUST be sent in for the week on the first day of the week in an envelope with his/her name on it. The cost is

The forms for free or reduced lunch need to be returned by all students whether you qualify or not. If you do not qualify, just write NO on the application, sign and return. Please put lunch and milk money in an envelope labeled with your child’s name, amount enclosed, and what your child needs for the week. If your child is absent, the overpayment will be applied to next week’s lunches.
Lunch money and money for any other thing may not be combined in one check. If you pay for your child’s lunch/milk with a check, that check must be for the school lunch program only (payable to S.A.D. #4). Thank you for your cooperation. SAD #4 offers breakfast to all K-12 students at no charge.
Emergency Cards
Please remember to return your child’s emergency card as soon as possible. We will continue the call back system. If your child is going to be either tardy or absent, please call the school by 8:00 AM. If you do not call us, we must spend time trying to find you!
Address Changes
Please contact us if you move, change address, and/or change phone number during the school year.
Medical Forms
When medication is needed, parents must sign a pink permission slip, which can be obtained at school. All medication must be sent to school in its original container, which is labeled with name, contents, and directions.
Transportation
If you have any questions concerning busing issues, please contact Dave Cotta at the bus garage (876-4035). All buses have radios and can be contacted through the bus garage.

GPS Spelling Program
Your child’s spelling program in grades 2 and 3 may be different from what you’ve come to expect as “spelling.” Instead of weekly lists of words to memorize, this program emphasizes the learning of important words, not for a Friday test, but for a lifetime of spelling in the real world… that is, spelling correctly in writing. Please come to the informational meeting about our new spelling program from 6:30 to 7:15 on Tuesday, September 12th, following the Open House. Story time will be available for children while parents attend the meeting.
