The elementary
staff would like to thank parents for making time to conference with teachers
about their child’s progress. Your
support is essential and does make a difference in your child’s education.
The elementary holiday concert will be held
on Tuesday, Dec.20 at 6 pm in the PCHS gym.
Please mark your calendar.
The kindergarten
was very excited to have Steve and Elaine Law visit on Monday. Through the Kids and Trees Growing
Together program they learned about the lifecycle of trees.
Cold weather is
here! Please make sure to send your
child with warm coats, hats, mittens and boots.
Remember that students are
expected to wear boots outside during the winter
months and must have different footwear for inside the school.
The next HUGS
meeting is on Monday, Nov.28th
at 6:30 at the
This year there
will be no gift exchange among students.
Instead, we are asking any child who wishes to bring in a non-perishable
food item to place it under the tree in our front halls. The food items will be distributed to needy
families in our area by our local Food Cupboard. The following are some suggestions: canned vegetables (especially carrots, green
beans, and corn), canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, pasta variations, tuna fish,
canned milk, cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter, jelly, Dinty
Moore beef stew, canned soups, ravioli, canned beans, and jello.
A new
after school literacy program is now being offered to all GPS & MCK
students and their families. The program is called Supper With
A Side Of Reading and will be held once a month at the Guilford
Primary School Multipurpose Room. The program will include supper, an adult
workshop on reading, children's story time and a family book checkout. The
adult workshop and children's story time will run for 15 minutes. The first
workshop will be "Tips For Reading To Your
Children". The first program will be held on Wednesday, December 14th from 6:00-7:30 pm. This is a FREE program for

The Box Tops for
Education collection box is in the lobby.
Please send in all specially marked General Mills box tops with your
children. A list of qualifying products
has been sent home and can also be found at www.boxtops4education.com.
The Hannaford
Helps Schools program has begun. McKusick and
The bottle for
collecting the tabs off soda cans has arrived.
Please send your tabs to school to benefit the children at the Shriner’s Hospital.
