An Open House and Book Fair will be held on Thursday, September 5. The McKusick School will be open from 5-6:30 and the Guilford Primary School will be open from 5:30 -7:00. All students are encouraged to come and bring their families to show them their classroom and have them meet their teacher. A ReadStreet Scholastic Book Fair will be held at each school. Please stop in to browse. Money earned from the book fairs will be used to benefit the schools. The book fairs will be open Sept. 3-6, during school hours. Your child will have an opportunity to ‘shop’ at the book fair each day.

The SAD#4 parent group, HUGS (Having United Goals), will be having a social on Aug. 28 at 6:30 PM at the C.L. McKusick School. All parents are encouraged to come and meet other parents. HUGS first official meeting will be on Wednesday, September 11 at 6:30 pm at the McKusick School in Parkman. All interested parents and friends are encouraged to attend.

The forms for free or reduced lunch need to be returned by all students whether you qualify or not. If you do not qualify just write NO on the application, sign and return. Please put lunch and milk money in an envelope labeled with your child’s name, amount enclosed, and what your child needs for the week. If your child is absent, the overpayment will be applied to next week’s lunches.

SAD#4 offers breakfast to all K-12 students at no charge. Students will be served breakfast upon arrival to school. If you are transporting your children, please have them at the Guilford Primary School by 8:00 so that they will have time to eat breakfast before school begins at 8:15. Students should arrive at the McKusick School by 7:45.

Lunch money and money for any other thing may not be combined in one check. If you pay for your child’s lunch/milk money with a check, that check must be for the school lunch program only (payable to S.A.D.#4). Thank you for your cooperation.

Please remember to return your child’s emergency card as soon as possible. We will continue the call back system. If your child is going to be either tardy or absent, please call the school by 8:00 am. If you do not call us, we must spend time trying to find you!

When medication is needed, parents must sign a pink permission slip which can be obtained at school. All medication must be sent to school in its original container which is labeled with name, contents, and directions.

If you have any questions concerning busing issues, please contact Dave Cotta at the bus garage (876-4035). All buses have radios and can be contacted through the bus garage.

Please keep this newsletter in a safe place during the school year. It contains important information for parents to remember to help make the school year run smoothly.
