GUILFORD PRIMARY/MCKUSICK ELEMENTARY
October 25, 2002
In celebration of Halloween, we will be wearing black and orange. Please save your costumes and make-up for after school trick-or-treating activities. The afternoon will be filled with fun activities that balance academic and social growth. Thank you HUGS for all of your help!

Guilford Primary-October 29
The HUGS fundraiser was a huge success! We would like to thank everyone for their participation. The fundraiser items are here! Please pick up your items at the school. If there are any problems with your order, please contact Michelle Patterson at 876-2053 for Guilford Primary and Pam Speed at 876-4726 for McKusick.
This was Bus Safety Week. Students were able to learn about bus safety and practice bus evacuation procedures. Today was Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Students signed a banner which was displayed at a luncheon given for the drivers in their honor. School Bus Safety is Everyone's Responsibility!
Ranks close Friday, October 25. Rank cards will go home on Friday, November 1st. The math section will be reported differently this year. We are piloting a new system based on state and federal requirements. Please sign the envelope and return as soon as possible. The enclosed report card is yours to keep.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled from 3:00-6:00 pm at:
McKusick on Nov. 4 & 5
Guilford Primary on Nov. 6 & 7
Information regarding conferences has been sent home. If these days are not convenient, please call your child's teacher to schedule a different appointment time. It is important that parents and teachers meet to discuss their child's progress. It is our goal to meet with 100% of our parents. Conferences should be no more than 15 minutes. If more time is needed, we will be happy to schedule an additional meeting on another date.
Here are some tips on how to have a successful conference:
Please do not send your daughter to school wearing a dress or skirt on Movement Day. Many girls come to school in a dress and expect to change into pants before Movement. There is not enough time in the school day for such wardrobe changes.
No school on Nov. 11-Veteran's Day.
The McKusick staff would like to thank parents for contributing items for the local food cupboard and animal shelter for Make a Difference Day. You have helped your child to truly make a difference in our community.
In celebration of Make a Difference Day, Guilford Primary School can make a difference! If each class reads 100 books by Dec. 6, 2002, Scholastic Book Clubs will donate 600 books to children in need! Reading is Giving!
Free new and used coats for children, men and women. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Curtis at 876-4717.
