Grade 4 Newsletter

SOCIAL STUDIES: We’ve spent some time this week looking over the counties of our state and their locations. Children are learning the county song!

 

MATH: Math students will be taking a math test early next week on capacity, weight, volume, and shapes.

 

SCIENCE: We’ll be revving up for the racecar rally…. stay tuned!

 

Title One: Reminder…our garden needs tulips…students need to be reading and reporting their titles and authors.

 

Alert: Students are in need of new pencils. Be sure your child is well supplied for end of the school year.

 

Kids and Trees Growing Together Family Farm: The entire fourth grade will be visiting and participating in a tree project (on May 3rd.) that will be ongoing through their high school years.

 

Movement Month: PCMS is participating in a “May is Movement Month”. Fourth graders will be participating three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) in a walking program at the high school track. Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for walking these days.

 

ART: The students are working on a Monet style impressionist painting.  Their paintings are due May 10, 11, or 12th, whichever day is the last day for your class that week.

 

Spring Wellness Carnival: Saturday May 13, 2006 for grades K-5… come join in the fun with games, prizes, music, face painting, and the Cake Walk!
