ART NEWS: I just wanted to announce the opening of the K-6 Visual Art Show at the Department of Education in Augusta.  The show will run through October 21st.  If you happen to get down to the Augusta area between now and then, please plan to take a look.  The students do a wonderful job, and they would enjoy knowing that you stopped in to see their work. ~Mrs. Albers

MAGAZINE DRIVE: Monday is the last turn in date!

BOOK ORDERS: If you pay by check, be sure to make it payable to the book company as listed on the order form, NOT to PCMS.

MERIT DOLLAR EVENT: Students who had earned ten dollars and wished to spend them enjoyed a merit dollar recess today.

COINS FOR KATRINA: Lots of students have already brought donations, one penny or a lot, it all helps!

HERO STUDENTS: Fourth graders are quickly learning about the HERO program of good conduct here at PCMS. Parents may wish to review this information in the Student Handbook that went home the first day.

READING CLASSES: We’ve begun Theme 1 It’s Cool, It’s School! These stories are a fun collection of adventures at school by authors Judy Blume, Bud Howlett, Johanna Hurwitz, and Eloise Greenfield. You and your child might enjoy a trip to the local library to find more books by these writers.

MATH CLASSES: We will be starting Unit 2 next week. The Family Letter describing this unit went home with your child on Thursday.

POWERSCHOOL: Parents can access their children’s grades at any time by using our online Powerschool program. Contact Mrs. Savage in the office for your access code.

SOCIAL STUDIES CLASSES: We recognized National Constitution Day on Friday.
