Grade 4 Newsletter
8 October 2004
v Fourth graders enjoyed the beautiful autumn weather this afternoon as we strolled the River Walk for our first Merit Dollar Event. Another event will be held at the end of the month, so encourage your child to continue to earn that money!
v In social studies classes we are learning about government and preparing for our mock election on Tuesday, October 26.
v We will be starting our Multiplication Mastery Marathon in math classes. A few minutes of fact practice each day will help your child be successful. A set of fact triangles is included in this packet of papers, and students have learned an activity in class for using them.
v We will be creating some fun Halloween stories in writing classes after vacation.
v Earth Patrol is the name of our next reading theme. Students will be reading about ways to protect and preserve our environment.
v In science we are finishing with microscopes and will begin a unit on conservation to integrate with our reading lessons.
v October 25 we are taking a field trip to the Natural Resource Center Forest in Dover. More info to come.
v Now that cool weather has arrived, please be sure your child has a jacket with him/her each day.
v Enjoy a wonderful fall break this next week!
