v    Midterms have been mailed home. If you havenÕt received yours, please contact the school office at 876-4301.

v    COMPUTERS: We were excited to have Mr. Poland deliver our classroom laptops this week and show us how we can use them!

v    MATH: WeÕve begun a unit on multiplication/division facts. Attached with your childÕs papers is a set of fact triangle flash cards. Cut them apart on the solid lines. Store in a baggie. Please have your child use them daily to master the basic facts. FYI: Everyday Math has a helpful parent website at: www.wrightgroup.com/parent_connection/index.html.

v    READING: WeÕve begun a new theme called ÒEarth Patrol: Preserve and ProtectÓ. Reading selections will focus on ways to protect our planetÕs resources. Over the next few weeks share with your child any newspaper or television articles you discover on this topic. It is amazing what a global awareness our children have!

v    SCIENCE: We will finish our study of food chains and food webs the first of next week. We continue reading daily about different animals and are learning lots of interesting information. Ask your child to tell you one of the fascinating facts.

(We were thrilled to watch two bald eagles circling our playground on Wednesday!)

v    SOCIAL STUDIES: We are researching and learning about the counties of Maine.
