Grade 4 Newsletter
22 October 2004
v SPECIAL ATTENTION!!! Students should dress in comfortable, warm, outdoor clothing on Monday. We are going on a field trip to the Natural Resource Education Center in Dover for the fourth grade step in the Kids and Trees Growing Together Project. It should be a fun afternoon of learning about Maine’s abundant forest resource.
v Be sure to stop by the display case beside the office to see what the fourth graders have created for our upcoming mock election which will be held on Tuesday of next week. The Maine Student Mock Election program encourages young people to become interested in voting and involved in state and national issues and candidates. Our results will be sent to Dan Gwadosky, Secretary of State and tabulated with those of the entire state.
v On Friday, October 29, students are asked to dress in black and orange. Let’s see which homeroom can have the most participants! We will also hold our next Merit Dollar Event that day. This one is a bargain at only $5.
v Reminder-return the activity bus permission form that was sent home on Tuesday of this week. Even if your child is not involved in an activity currently, there may be one later in the year he/she will choose to do. Check the schedule that accompanied the permission form. This bus run could save you a great deal of time!
v Mike W, Brittany P, and Becky B are the first Leaders of the Week in the Multiplication Mastery Marathon. Congratulations to them!
v Our classroom set of computers is now ready for our computer applications class. Mrs. Weymouth will soon be sending home permission slips which require parent signatures. Please return ASAP. Thanks.
v The weather’s getting cooler, be sure your child has a jacket each day!
