Grade 4 Newsletter
4 November 2005
NOVEMBER 10: Students are asked to dress in red, blue, and white on Thursday for our school-wide Veterans Day assembly. Area veterans have been invited to this performance in their honor. If you know of other veterans who would like to attend, they simply need to R.S.V.P. at 876-4301. Fourth graders will sing You’re a Grand Old Flag. They also have written poems to be presented to the veterans.
NOVEMBER 11: Veteran’s Day. Reminder there is no school.
NOVEMBER 18: This is an early release day followed by a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Classes will have an assessment next week over chapter 2. Study guide and vocabulary words will be coming home early in the week.
SCIENCE: Fourth graders have gone to the dump! (We are making and investigating landfills.)
LANGUAGE ARTS: Mrs. Post’s and Mrs. Smith’s classes will be spending about three weeks doing chapter book studies. There will be no spelling lists nor LAB page assignments during this time.
MATH: We’ve begun Unit 4 on decimals and metric measurements of meters, decimeters, centimeters, and millimeters. Family letters and goals sheets went home earlier this week. See flyer included in math papers for info about Marvelous Multiplication for Moms (and Dads!) night.
