Welcome Back

We trust everyone had a restful and enjoyable Christmas break. Students are getting back into gear and should have much about school to present to you.

Oops!

Your editor attempted to spice up the newsletter with color last month. The problem is that the color has a wax base. When it is run though the copier, the heat melts the wax, and you get the lines seen on your paper. It shouldn't happen again.

It’s Cold Out There

When some students are asked to put on winter coats and gloves for recess, they are telling teachers they have none. What they mean is they have them but don’t wear them because they won’t look cool. Unless it is dangerously cold or raining, all students go out at recess. Please be sure your child has the appropriate clothing with them in the morning. We will make sure they wear it here.

Conferences

Teachers encourage parents and guardians to maintain contact concerning your child. Whether you have had a conference or not with 6th grade teachers, you are welcomed to call or send a note with your child to make arrangements to meet with us. The school phone is 876-4301. You may leave voice mail if the teacher is not available.

Second Quarter Ends

The end of the second quarter falls on Friday the 18th. Students who are behind in work must have it caught up by that date. If there have been absenses due to illness, extentions will follow the guidelines in the Student Handbook, 2001/2002.

Vocabulary Test

Mr. Savage's homeroom will have a vocabulary test for reading next Wednesday, January 9. Students should review journal notes at home before that date. Don’t wait until Wednesday morning on the bus ride.
