Cold Weather Gear – Students are reminded to wear appropriate clothing to school during the cold winter months. Sixth grade students are told hands and heads are to be covered at recess time as well as wearing a winter coat. Parents might be interested to know some students walk into school in the morning with only a t-shirt on. Pneumonia is not a good way to get time off from school.
Science and the Tree Cards – The project is finally coming together, and many cards will be produced which contain a great deal of information about the trees in our forests. Some students will need a time for catching up. Mrs. Titcomb has set a time for after school Thursday, January 13 as a make up date. Parents may want to coordinate that time with their child if there is a need.
Back to Work – It is great to be back after the Christmas break. Students seem to be happy being back in class with their friends, and they are off to a great start for the new year. For example, Mr. Savage’s reading students completed a very good comprehension exam this week for the novel Stepping on the Cracks, by Mary Downing Hahn.
