Celebrating our Towns – The following comes to us from the local Kiwanis Club. It appears to be a great plan to put our communities in the spotlight.

January 20, 2005

Greetings,

The Guilford Area Kiwanis Club is in the preliminary stages of planning a celebration in appreciation of the wonderful small towns that comprise SAD #4. We would like to extend an invitation to the community to join us in these plans.

Tentatively, we intend to hold this event in the autumn of 2005 and perhaps coordinate it with Homecoming Weekend or if the Heritage Festival is in Guilford next year, perhaps that weekend. Construction and revitalization in and around Guilford/Sangerville should be finished by that time. We’re also hopeful the new playground will be finished. The riverfront recreational fields in Guilford would be our home base.

We have many ideas we would like to share. ALL interested citizens, clubs, organizations, businesses and schools are invited to send representatives to meet with us at Friends of Community Fitness in Sangerville on Monday, January 31st, 7 PM. We wish to determine general community interest, compile ideas, and begin the long process of creating a special day celebrating community pride and spirit.

We need to set a firm date and develop a Theme to plan around.

Together we can make it happen. Please join us. RSVP 876-2546

Sincerely,

Gayle Watson

Baby, It’s Cold Outside – Just a reminder to students to remain bundled up during the cold spell. It may be “cool” to go outside unprepared, but when ears and fingers become frozen it is very painful. Also, since Thursday was a snow day, you will want to add one more school day to your calendar. The last day is now June 14th. Sorry about that.
