Bowling – On Friday, February 4, the sixth grade class will be going to the bowling lanes in Dover-Foxcroft  for an afternoon of bowling. As a part of the school district’s wellness program the students will participate in the activity with a view toward improving health-related fitness. Students will leave the school at 11:30 and return to school in time to meet the regularly scheduled buses and athletic events after school.

Mid-trimester – Time is flying this year, and it’s time for the mid-trimester grades. This is also the mid-point of the school year. Grades close on Friday, January 28, 2005 and will be compiled for sending home next week. Parents should contact teachers if there are any questions about grades or teacher comments. Please review the Guiding Principles as these numbers reflect your child’s efforts and the quality of their success.

New Awards Program – Do you often wonder how the academic awards and other recognition programs are going to work under the Maine Learning Results (MLR)? If you have the opportunity, come to the Middle School cafeteria on Tuesday, February 1, and find out. Grade six students will attend their first awards assembly under the new MLR grading system. The assembly begins at about 1:00 PM. Students will be recognized for academic achievement, attendance, and community service. Parents and relatives are always welcomed and encouraged to attend.
