Embarrassed EditorLast week’s news carried the wrong name for Felicia Fortier with respect to the spelling bee. Where the wrong name came from is anybody’s guess. Felicia was very gracious in receiving an apology. The irony, of course, is that the spelling bee champion has her name misspelled.

Spelling Bee – We have two sixth grade students attending the county spelling bee in Milo. Felicia Fortier and Sheila McEwen will be in the Milo Town Hall today, March 11, at 5:30 PM. Family and friends, as well as students, are encouraged to attend and give their support.

Second Trimester Ends - The second trimester has come to a close today, March 11. Parents can look for trimester reports during the following week. Time is really flying this year.

Last Day – Because we have had five snow days, the last day of school is now June 20. At least this week’s foot of snow comes on a Saturday. Spring begins in nine days, and all this will be behind us. Maybe?

Early Release – March 18th, next Friday, is an early release day for students. Families should plan accordingly.

Science – Mrs. Titcomb’s classes have begun the Rocks and Minerals Unit of study. This unit is usually an interesting one for students.

Social Studies – Mr. Savage’s Social Studies classes have moved on to ancient Rome with gladiators and the conquest of the known world at that time. Watch for special projects.
