GRADE SIX NEWSLETTER

PCMS

August 30, 2002

The school year is off to a great start! We have a terrific group of kiddos and are looking forward to a very positive year. We will endeavor to get a newsletter out each Friday.

PARENT NIGHT

We will be holding Parent Night on Thursday, September 5, from 6:30 to 7:30. This is a time to come in to meet the staff of the Sixth grade team and hear a little about our programs. We welcome as many parents as are able to come.

BORESTONE TRIP

During the parent meeting we will be asking for chaperones to climb Borestone with the class on Friday, September 20. We need about 15 chaperones to ensure the safety of the children. If you are able to come, please sign up, or let a Sixth grade teacher know.

HOMEWORK CLUB

If your child needs after-school help, the Homework Club is in session from 3:00 to 4:00, Monday - Thursday. It will meet in the library with Mrs. Gioia. Students can sign up in the office. Please arrange to pick up your child promptly at 4:00.

BAND AND CHORUS

Mr. Jason Brown and Mr. Les Tomlinson are working on chorus and band schedules for the children. They will have their programs up and running soon.

The Sixth grade teachers put in book orders periodically through Scholastic Book Clubs. It's a great way for children to obtain reasonably priced books at their reading levels. Ask your child if they have an order form.
