PARENT
NIGHT
Thank
you for the very nice turnout for our Open House. It's always good to see so many parents
coming out to meet the teachers and see where their child is spending the
majority of their waking hours.
BORESTONE
TRIP
We
have chosen Friday, September 20, to climb Borestone
Mountain.
We
had a number of parents sign up to be chaperones at the Open House. We still need a few more. If you can come along, let one of the sixth
grade teachers know. Check the back of
this newsletter for details. There is a
$1.00 fee per student and adult.
HOMEWORK
CLUB
We
encourage children who need help with homework to attend homework club. It is much better to stay on top of work assignments
than trying to play catch up. Mrs.
Gioia is available until 4:00
Monday through Thursday. Please arrange
to pick up your child promptly at 4:00.
BAND
AND CHORUS
Mr.
Jason Brown and Mr. Les Tomlinson have their chorus and band schedules set
now. We are fortunate to have a good
number of children interested in music.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2002
We
are coming up on the anniversary of this special event in the history of our
country. To mark the day, the whole
school will be walking down to King
Cummings
Park
for a memorial service lead by the Conner-Trafton
American Legion Post. Our children have
been working on essays, posters, and poems remembering the event. Some will be presented at the service. It is open to the public.
