Grade Six Newsletter

September 7, 2007

RECALL – Last week’s news letter had to be recalled due to an incorrect date for our open house visit.

OPEN HOUSE – The new date for our open house is September 19, Wednesday between 6:30 and 7:30 PM.  Please come and visit the classrooms. It is always a pleasure to connect faces with the parents of our students.

ATHLETES – If students are playing in any sport they are reminded to pay attention to their schedules and dismissal times. Please us the main stairway when going down for games and practices.

BAND – On Tuesday, September 11, there will be a band Demonstration at the PCMS Cafeteria at 6:30.

FIELD TRIP – Grade six students will be going on a trip to the Williamsburg Demonstration Forest. There is much to learn as instructors discuss various trees, soils, and wildlife we can expect to find in the Maine woods. This trip supports our science and reading programs. The trip is scheduled for September 21, Friday.

More information will be available next week.

PARENT TIP – Is your family at a loss for words at suppertime? Ask your students what they talked about in class today. Reading classes are looking at survival, and Social Studies classes are reviewing maps and globes.
