GRADE SIX NEWS

September 10, 2004                                  P.C.M.S

BORESTONE MOUNTAIN – The 6th grade students are scheduled to climb Borestone Mountain on Friday, September 24. Details for the trip are printed on the back of today’s newsletter. If you did not make the open house at school, Sept 7, and would like to chaperone this trip, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher on Monday, September 13.

OPEN HOUSE – We had a very successful open house at P.C.M.S. this year. Many parents came to see teachers and to inquire about new programs for their children. The sixth grade team was especially happy with the number of parents who came to see them. If you were unable to attend, please feel free to make arrangements to come at your convenience. You may call the school (876-4301) or e-mail teachers individually. rtitcomb@sad4.com, dhobart@sad4.com, or bsavage@sad4.com

GOOD BOOKS – LOW PRICES – Mrs. Hobart’s book order is due September 17, Friday.

MAGAZINES – Magazine order turn-in dates are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of next week.

MATH CLASS – Students of Mrs. Hobart’s math class will need a calculator. The office at school can order them at a very reasonable price.

HEALTH CLASS – In the introductory unit on Health and Wellness, students will learn how the choices and decisions they make can either positively of negatively impact all aspects of their well-being.

WEEKLY PAPERS – Generally you may expect your child to bring home graded work and this newsletter at the end of each week. If you have missed the newsletter, check the district web site, www.sad4.com. We will do our best to put it there each week. It will also be seen at the Powerschool site. We want you to have every opportunity to receive important information.

DOWN THE ROAD – School photos will be taken October 4.  The district 5 music festival will be on November 5. Conferences are scheduled for the week of November 15. Watch the newsletter for more details.
