GRADE SIX NEWSLETTER

PCMS

September 13, 2002

You would have been proud of your kids! In less than ideal conditions, the kiddos stood respectfully through speeches memorializing the heroes of 9-11- 2001. A difficult day for all, but we got through it. We were asked by the American Legion to encourage the children to express their thoughts on 9-11-01 in a number of ways. Many of our 6th graders received recognition for their work. Honorable Mention in Art went to ten students. In the essay category, Honorable Mention went to two students. We Grade 6 teachers are very proud of our kid's contribution.

BORESTONE TRIP

Here we go! On Friday, September 20, we will be climbing Borestone Mountain. We still need a few more chaperones. If you can come along, let one of the sixth grade teachers know. There is a $1.00 fee per student and a $3.00 fee for adults.

MAGAZINE DRIVE

We are in the final stretch of our magazine drive. Our turn-ins have been low, but we still have a chance to pull in a big finale. Monday, September 16th is our last day to get the orders in. Work especially hard this weekend to get those totals up!

GEAR-UP TRIP

Gear-up students have been invited to UMO during October Break. Permission slips need to be brought in by September 19 to the office.
