BORESTONE MOUNTAIN – The 6th grade students are scheduled to climb Borestone Mountain on Friday, September 24. Details for the trip are printed on the back of last week’s newsletter. Students should bring $2.00 to cover the Audubon Society fee.

STRIDERS’ CLUB – An afternoon program begins on Tuesday, September 21. From 3 to 4:30 PM students involved will be given instruction from grade six teachers in compass and pedometer use. They will then begin “striding” over various trails and walkways in the area. The program will continue each Tuesday, and will, in the future, include Global Positioning System (GPS) devises. The first session will be eight weeks in length. Students may sign up in the office.

MAGAZINES – The last magazine order turn-in date is Monday.

SOCIAL STUDIES QUIZ – Mr. Savage is conducting the very first Social Studies quiz on Monday, September 20. Students should have taken their notes home to study for the week end.

PICTURES – October 4 is approaching quickly. Envelopes will be coming home soon for parents to make a decision about school pictures. It will be a time for that special hair arrangement as well.

WEEKLY PAPERS – Generally you may expect your child to bring home graded work and this newsletter at the end of each week. If you have missed the newsletter, check the district web site, www.sad4.com. We will do our best to put it there each week. It will also be seen at the Powerschool site. We want you to have every opportunity to receive important information.

DOWN THE ROAD –The district 5 music festival will be on November 5. Conferences are scheduled for the week of November 15. Watch the newsletter for more details.
