WE NEED CHAPERONES

On Friday, September 30, grade six is going on a field trip to the Piscataquis County Soil & Water Conservation District Demonstration Forest in Williamsburg Township.  We will be leaving school at 8:30 and returning at 2:30.  The forest will give us a chance to learn about forestry, wildlife, soils, and tree identification from professionals in their fields.  We would like to take about 20 adults with us to walk the trails with our kids.  If you can come, send in the notification at the bottom of this letter.

All hikers need to wear sturdy footwear like sneakers or hiking boots.  All hikers need to bring a lunch and drink, no glass please.  We’re eating lunch in the forest, so be prepared to carry in and carry out your litter.

PCMS DISASTER RELIEF

Just a reminder that we have two on-going fund raisers.  We are encouraging you to turn in bottles at Route 23 Redemption, Desmonds, and the Cambridge General Store.  Just designate that you would like the funds to go towards PCMS Disaster Relief.  We will collect until October 2.  We also have a penny jar going where kids bring in change to go to the same fund.  Please help us teach children that it is important to help out those less fortunate than we are.

Yes, I plan on chaperoning the field trip on 9/30/05.
