PARENT MEETING FOR FUND RAISING

We had our information meeting on Tuesday night. A lot of parents were able to attend. Mr. Savage went over what our needs are to be able to go on the trip to Quebec City and why we want to go. The Sixth Grade Teacher team discussed some of the fund raisers that have worked well in the past. Candle sales were at the top of the list of successful money raisers. A committee was formed with Laura Gourley as the facilitator to get us started on the project so the sales can be made before Christmas. Information will be brought home by the students.

We bantered around a number of other ideas, some of which we will revisit after we have completed the candle sale. It was brought up that perhaps the kids should be contributing to the efforts as well as the adults. We decided upon a competition between the three homerooms to have a dime collection. We will come up with a prize for the homeroom with the most money collected. Mrs. Titcomb found gallon jugs for all 3 homerooms and the race is on.

PLAY OFF TIME

The Girls Field Hockey team finished the season as Penquis League Champions with a perfect 10 - 0 season. The Boys Soccer Team also finished the season as the Penquis League Champions with a perfect 11 - 0 finish. Great job by both teams! Mr. Bellemare was quick to note that although it is wonderful to win, it is giving our best efforts and being a good sport that really counts in our team and individual endeavors.

MOCK ELECTIONS

We will be participating in a mock election here at PCMS on October 29th. Secretary of State, Dan Gwadosky stopped in Monday morning to speak to the students about the election process. He told them that the people running for office, are very interested in the results of the Mock Election. It looks to be an exciting day!

Heads Up! There is a Social Studies test next week over the information Mr. Savage has been covering on Mesopotamia (Study, study, study).
