VETERAN’S DAY RECOGNITION

P.C.M.S. students and faculty are sponsoring a Veterans' Day Assembly on Thursday, November 10, at 1:15 in the school gym.  If you know of veterans who would like to attend, they simply need to R.S.V.P. at 876-4301.  Our sixth graders are going to present a choral reading as well as flag work.  They are doing an awesome job in practice.

A MESSAGE FROM MR. BELLEMARE

The Guilford Area Kiwanis is doing their annual Holiday Giving Campaign.  If people need assistance around the December holidays such as clothing, necessities or l play item they can call:  Carrie 876-3312 or 876-3407.  If they would like to donate a toy or money  call Carrie or drop off things at Guilford Key Bank, Guilford Rite Aid or the Guilford Library.  If they could call before November 5th it would be appreciated.

FROM MRS. ALLEN

Grade 6 students have just completed their skeletal system and they are all hanging from the ceiling in the health room. Mrs. Allen will be available in room 225 to meet with parents during student-led conferences next Wednesday and Thursday beginning at 5:00 PM both days following the CLC fitness program she runs at Guilford Primary.

STUDENT LED CONFERENCES NOV 9 & 10

You should have received a notice about the up coming conferences with your child’s mid-term report.  Please make an effort to support your child’s learning by coming and giving them a chance to explain to you what it is they have been learning since the beginning of school.  If by chance you didn’t receive a notice, please call school and sign up.

BASKETBALL TRY OUTS NEXT WEEK

Sixth graders are eligible to try out for basketball this year.  If you need to get paperwork signed and turned in, please do so before you go to try outs next week.  If you played fall sports, your paper work should be in order.

GRADE SIX CHANGE CHALLENGE IS UNDERWAY

Each year at this time, the sixth graders bring in loose change to throw into a bucket.  We count the money (a good math lesson), and give it to the local food cupboard to purchase turkeys for holiday dinners.  We think it is important to teach children to think of others whenever we can.  Last year we were able to buy eight turkeys with loose change!  Let’s see if we can match that figure to raise it this year.

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE

After a beautiful summer and fall, the weather has turned cold.  We go out every day, unless it is raining, so please bundle those kids up.  They need jackets, winter coats for some days, hats, and mittens.

VETERAN’S DAY OBSERVANCE

There is no school on November 11, in honor of those who serve our country.  Take time to talk to your child about the sacrifices others have gone through, and are still facing today.

WEARING OF THE ORANGE

A reminder that hunting season started Nov. 1 and runs through Nov. 26.  For safety sake, please wear orange when you are out and about.
