HEALTH NEWS FROM MRS. ALLEN:

Grade 6 Health Class - Maintaining a weekly health journal that focuses upon changing behaviors so as to create good habits has been an ongoing assignment. This week, students have been introduced to the muscular system. Major muscle groups have been identified and students are asked to know this information for the next class. Flash cards will be made to help facilitate their learning.

MONDAY MATH TEST ON UNIT 3 !

Review your journal for the Unit 3 test next Monday

NO HOMEWORK CLUB WOES:

We are having problems with the number of students who want to stay after school for “help”.  Mostly we are finding that they only need a half hour or so of someone checking their work.  We have kids who come up to us at the end of the day saying they need to stay after.  Teachers are not always available after school on a moment’s notice.  We have meetings that are scheduled, teach other classes, and have appointments that we are encouraged to make after school hours.  In short, we need 24 hours written notice, and we need to both consent to staying.  It’s not that we don’t want to help children, but we need advance notice so that we can make arrangements.

GIVING TREE IS UP:

The annual giving tree is up in front of the library.  It would be awfully nice if your child could bring in just one nonperishable item to put under the tree.

MARKING PERIOD ENDED LAST FRIDAY, LOOK FOR REPORT CARDS SOON.
