Opportunities to Share
There are several ways for students to share
at school during the holiday season this year. There is a "Giving Tree"
in the 5th/6th grade area. Students may bring nonperishable foods to set under
the tree. It will then be taken to the Methodist Church for distribution. The
"Coats for Kids Campaign" is being conducted at the Middle School.
Unused but serviceable coats can be brought to the container in the school lobby.
The National Honor Society is collecting gifts for children as well. They should
be small enough to fit in a shoe box.
Mid-Quarter Reports
Sixth grade teachers have sent reports home this week to parents of students
who have grades less than 80 for any given subject area. If you received no
report, you may assume all is well. If you are interested, however, in you child's
progress, you may call at any time for that information.
Vacation
The Christmas vacation begins next Friday, December 21. Students will return on Wednesday, January 2, 2002. Wow! Time sure flies.
Conferences
Teachers encourage parents and guardians to maintain contact concerning your child. If you have not yet had a conference with 6th grade teachers, you are welcomed to call or send a note with your child to make arrangements. The school phone is 876-4301. You may leave voice mail if the teacher is not available.
Gifts
While this is the season for giving, it may not be appropriate to bring gifts to school. Some students may feel inadequate at not being able to bring them in. Thank you for your understanding.
S.W.A.P.
On Friday the 21st, during the afternoon, student will be engaged in a school wide activity program. Many activities will be available from which students may select.
NO NEWS
Due to the busy holiday, and that the editor will be tired, there will be no newsletter on the Friday before vacation. If you just have to know what is going on, ask your child. They usually know all the goings-on.
