Grade Six School Supplies for 2005/2006 School Year

Students attending grade six at P.C.M.S. will need the following supplies.

Each class requires a single-subject, spiral-bound notebook. The basic 70 page notebook is fine and is the least expensive. Five notebooks should be enough. Health class requires a three-ring binder. A multiple-subject notebook is not appropriate.

Students will need a set of 12 colored pencils for map work and chart making. It is suggested they plan on three sets throughout the year.

A good supply of number 2 pencils should be on hand. A pencil is needed every day in every class.

Students will need a ruler marked for metric measure as well as English. Simple plastic rulers work best. Rubber or flexible rulers become toys and are not accurate.

They will need a calculator for math classes. This will be needed on the first day.

The following items should not be taken to school.

Ball point or ink pens - They ruin clothes and desks when students take them apart. “GEL” pens are especially messy.

Mechanical pencils - Too much time is spent trying to get those new leads in the pencil, or the owners become victims of theft.

Markers, scented or otherwise - Teachers will provide markers when needed.

Colognes or perfumes cause serious allergic reactions in some students and should not be used.
