SAD #4
Task Force – Strategic Plan
2005-2010

A Task Force is currently being formed from a cross section of community members for the purpose of creating a five-year plan for the district.  This plan will provide a “road map” to guide decisions that the district must make in the future.  The group will consist of three members of the Board of Directors, three teachers representing various levels, and three members of the community.  District administrators will participate in an advisory role.

The Task Force will be developing goals in five areas:

            Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology

            Community Involvement

            Staff Development

            Administration and Financial Operation

            Facilities and Support Services

The Task Force will schedule information gathering sessions in the fall of ‘04 with various stakeholders within the district including:

                                                Faculty
                                                Students
                                                Parents
                                                Municipal Officials
                                                Community Members
                                                Administrators
                                                Support Staff
                                                Board of Directors
                                                Groups and Organizations

            * Individuals are invited to any and all sessions and will also have opportunities to provide feedback via the district website located at:  sad4.com

The Task Force will gather input from these forums and then cull and synthesize the information into achievable objectives.  Ideas not supported by a majority of the Task Force will not be listed as objectives.  Each objective will be categorized by level of need and cost.  The information will be published and will serve as a guideline for all decisions made regarding the operation of the school district in the coming years.  Anyone wishing to serve on the task force should contact the Superintendent’s Office at 876-3444 or e-mail pstearns@sad4.com.
