day walking in my footsteps and you would die. I hate my life. I work for the midwife Jane Sharp I am her apprentice. She found me in a dung heap outside. I had to keep warm! I don’t know anything about my parents and the farthest back I can remember I have been moving from town to town trying to find work for food and shelter. I always get run out of town they say I am a beggar. I carry all of the midwifes things and potions to the houses of the others in labor. I also have to wait outside and run some errands she runs most of them and leaves me all alone with Purr the cat that I found by the fence outside he follows me everywhere now that I have been giving him some of the food that I get. Besides that I end up having to wait for hours on end for the midwife to get out and hand me the basket so we can go home. The midwife does the cooking and I help keep the house and sleep on the floor of her cottage. All we drink is ale and we very rarely get to clean up. The midwife usually doesn’t unless if she has to go out and meet with someone out of town or go on a trip. And thats waht it is like to be me for a day!!! | |
