SAD# 4 has been profiled as one of four exemplary schools in the nation in the book Raising the Standard by Denis P. Doyle and Susan Pimentel published through the support of the Walton Family Foundation and the Coalition for Goals 2000 at George Washinton University.

The 174 page book is an "eight step action guide for schools and communities" to use for improving the education of students. David Kearns, former C.E.O of Zerox and former U.S. Secretary of Education, stated it "lays out a blueprint for change that every school district in America can adopt and adapt."
