Dear Parents:

On Wednesday, March 22, 2000 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the McKusick School in Parkman, The SAD #4 Elementary Schools will be hosting our second School/Parent Compact Meeting. We had a very good turn out of parents and teachers for the first meeting last year. We are in hopes for an even better turn out for this meeting! Please remember that childcare will be provided and pizza will be served.

The School/Parent Compact is a voluntary agreement between the school and the parents of children attending our school. It is to be developed by our school with our parent's input. The compact outlines how parents, the entire school staff and students will share responsibilities for improving student achievement.

In addition to the discussion around the School/Parent Compact, we will have two guest speakers. Deena Weinstein is our district's Migrant Education Coordinator and will talk to us about migrant education. Lori Keyte is employed by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Program and will speak to us about child development, nutrition and parenting.
