Mayo Auxiliary Hosts Variety Show
GUILFORD - The Mayo Regional Hospital Auxiliary will stage a community variety show on Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 7-9 p.m. at the Piscataquis Community High School gymnasium in Guilford.

Admission will be $6, with all proceeds to help the Auxiliary reach its goal of raising $26,000 to repay the cost of the bone densitometer used to test for osteoporosis at the hospital's Imaging Center for Women.

The Auxiliary has so far raised $21,000 for the project.

The variety show will feature local talent, including Sid Stutzman and Doughty Hill; a Cosmopolitan Club skit; dulcimer player Clifford Leighton; singer/guitarist Gloria Knowlton; "Mr. Banjo" Ron Coates; Rose Nelson and "Friends"; Arlene Dean performing "Bird in the Gilded Cage"; pianist Shirley Warren; vocal solos by Rev. Dodie Stowe and Tom Goulette; and more.

Beverages and other refreshments will be for sale.

The Mayo Auxiliary was formed in 1977 to lend support to the hospital's patients and staff, and annually raises approximately $10,000 through fund-raising projects, individual donations and operation of the gift cabinet in the hospital lobby.
