The fifth grade students at Piscataquis Community Middle School will be learning to ski at Squaw Mountain this winter.

PCMS Principal, Greg Bellemare, and the fifth grade staff received the endorsement of the school board for six early release days for the students to participate in ski lessons at Squaw Mountain.

The entire cost of transportation, ski lessons, lift tickets and equipment will be funded through federal Substance Prevention funds and the 21st Century Learning Center Grant.

The ski program will assist students and staff in developing team building skills and attitudes.
