The S.A.D. #4 Board of Directors has extended the contract of the Superintendent of Schools, Norman Higgins, through June 30, 2003. He is completing thirty-two years in the district and has served as superintendent for the past five years. He stated that due to declining enrollments that the major challenges will be to create new partnerships to maintain or expand opportunities for students. Higgins stressed that he believed that through the cooperative efforts of the students, staff and community that SAD #4 would continue to be "A Great Place to Learn." William Hume, Chairman of the SAD #4 Board of Directors, believes that "a continuation of leadership for the next three years" provides the stability the district needs to address new challenges. |
